California Transparency in Supply Chains Act Statement

This statement outlines the steps taken by Chewy to determine that modern slavery and human trafficking is not taking place in any of our supply chains, and in any part of our business.   Chewy is committed to the responsible and ethical sourcing of products.  Chewy evaluates our supply chains to assess and address the risks of human trafficking and slavery.  We will not knowingly work with any supplier that violates the laws regarding slavery and human trafficking. Our suppliers must comply with our requirements and the applicable legal requirements of the countries in which they conduct business. We engage in the following activities to help ensure our suppliers share our commitment to the ethical souring of products and the eradication of slavery and human trafficking.

SOCIAL AUDITS OF SUPPLIERS.Our suppliers are expected to abide by Chewy’s Social Audit Policy which requires our suppliers outside of the United States and Canada to complete a social audit on an annual cadence. Suppliers within the United States and Canada are required to complete a social compliance audit within 30 days, if requested.  The social audit requires a tour of the supplier’s facility and evaluates labor and human rights requirements and other business practices.  Approval for production to commence is contingent upon acceptable social audits results.  Violations of our requirements or applicable legal requirements may result in termination of the supplier or submission of a detailed corrective action plan.

SUPPLIER COMPLIANCE. Supplies are required to comply with Chewy’s Social Audit Policy, along with the laws of the country of production and ethical guidance as issued by Chewy.   Additionally, Chewy’s Ethics and Integrity Principles for Chewy’s Vendors, is published on Chewy’s website. Chewy completes due diligence screening for all suppliers located outside of the United States.  This process is specifically designed to surface risks and flags associated with suppliers in a number of critical areas.

TRAINING.Chewy has adopted a Code of Conduct and Ethics Policy that applies to every director, officer and employee of Chewy and its subsidiaries.  Our Code of Conduct Policy is designed to deter wrongdoing and promote integrity.   We require all Chewy Team Members to complete compliance-related training on an annual cadence.

REPORTING. At Chewy, we have various avenues available to address ethics, integrity, or compliance concerns, including human rights concerns. Chewy Team Members may contact any member of management through our Open Door Policy, submit an anonymous report to our OpenBark Hotline, or seek guidance directly from our Compliance team. Our OpenBark Hotline is managed by an independent third party and is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

If a supplier identifies a potential ethics, integrity, or compliance concern involving or affecting Chewy, it is required to engage its primary point of contact at Chewy or contact Chewy’s Compliance Team as soon as possible. Suppliers may also submit reports through our OpenBark Hotline.

We investigate all reports and take the appropriate action to address those reports, up to and including termination of Team Members and termination of agreements with suppliers and vendors. Chewy forbids retaliation against any person reporting an ethics, integrity, or compliance concern in good faith.
