About Us
Brooklyn Bridge Animal Welfare Coalition is a women-run, volunteer-driven, nonprofit animal welfare organization dedicated to addressing the root causes of cat homelessness and overpopulation in New York City. The Brooklyn Cat Cafe, the first nonprofit cat cafe in NYC, is our flagship program where we invite guests to play with our cats, attend an event, learn more about rescue, and more. We focus on the rescue and adoption of homeless cats, providing affordable spay/neuter services and other low-cost veterinary services for both adoptable cats and the cats of under-resourced owners, providing humane education and cat care programs, and supporting and advocating for other animal welfare groups and individuals who are saving homeless cats from the streets of New York City. With over 500,000 homeless cats living on the streets of NYC at any given time, our mission is both critical and timely.
