Alex’s own medical emergency spawned For the Love of Alex. When Alex became ill, his best friend and FTLOA founder did everything she could to save him. That’s when she realized that expensive pet care could keep some families from saving their fur babies, and For the Love of Alex was born. Sometimes pets from low-income families have veterinary emergencies that they can't afford. Many veterinary emergencies cost thousands of dollars, and most hospitals will not even see an animal without a deposit.
